Foundation repair
We find what's letting the foundation move before we repair the block or concrete, so the cracks in the walls above don't keep reopening after a patch.
AJ West Palm Beach Concrete & Masonry is a masonry contractor working in Palm Beach, FL. We repair crumbling mortar and brick and block walls, and build paver drives, walkways, stone and garden walls for houses and condo buildings.

Palm Beach has its own government, so permits, work days and street use here run through the Town of Palm Beach, not through West Palm Beach, where we're based, or Riviera Beach. Most calls I get here are about what's already standing: garden and property walls with crumbling mortar, brick and stone that's worked loose, and paver drives and walkways that have sunk, along with some new walls and outdoor kitchens. A lot of it is on condo buildings or right at the street, and that shapes the job as much as the masonry does, because every truck, pallet and pour has to fit the town's rules on roads and parking.
The price moves with the size of the job, the material you pick and how much old mortar, brick or block has to come out before new work goes in. The schedule usually turns on the town and your building more than on us, through permit review, a condo letter if you need one and the days the town pauses work. You get your own figure from the estimate after I've seen the job, because on older walls I can only tell how much is still sound once I'm standing in front of it.
The town's permit application asks for the contractor's current license, and using unlicensed help can leave you unable to get inspections or the town's final sign-off. We're licensed and fully insured.
Every business working in town has to buy a business tax receipt, but the town says paying it doesn't certify anyone's competence. Ask any mason you're weighing for a license, not just the receipt.
Deliveries or pours in the road or sidewalk need a town right-of-way permit at least 72 hours ahead, and three street-parking strikes bring a stop-work order, so we plan trucks first.
We find what's letting the foundation move before we repair the block or concrete, so the cracks in the walls above don't keep reopening after a patch.
We rebuild loose crowns, cracked caps and worn joints on older chimneys, and we tell you plainly whether a section needs rebuilding or just new mortar.
We grind out crumbling mortar joints to sound material and refill them in a matching color, so the old brick on your house or garden wall keeps its look.
We swap out cracked or flaking bricks one at a time and match size and color as closely as the old stock allows, so the repair doesn't stand out.
We dig out, pack a firm base and lay pavers with a solid edge holding them in, because a drive that sinks or spreads usually failed underneath, not on top.
We build block and stone retaining walls with drainage behind them, because water trapped behind a wall is what usually pushes it out of line over time.
On older houses and garden walls, we repair what's failing and match the original brick, stone and mortar, so the work reads as part of the house, not a fix.
We build masonry fireplaces indoors and on patios, laying the firebox, surround and chimney to the maker's instructions for any unit we set in.
We set stone veneer over block or prepared walls with the backing and drainage it needs, so water that gets behind it can get out instead of loosening stones.
We lay block walls for property lines, gardens and service yards, with grout and steel where the design calls for it, then finish them in stucco or stone.
We lay block foundation walls for additions and new structures on a level, checked footing, because every course above depends on how true the first one is.
We build the block base, counters and stone or stucco finish for outdoor kitchens, leaving room for the grill and the gas and power runs your other trades need.
We build paver, brick and stone walkways from the street to the door or through the garden, on a packed base with a slight fall so water runs off.
We build new brick garden and property walls on a proper footing and match nearby brick where we can, so a new wall sits well beside older work.
We lay natural stone in walls, steps, edging and accents, fitting each piece by hand so the joints stay tight and the wall carries its weight evenly.
We repoint worn brick joints with mortar matched in strength to the old brick, because mortar harder than the brick can crack its faces over time.
Send the form with your address and what you're seeing. We respond within 1 business day to set a visit, then I come out, look at the job and give you a free estimate.
I come out and look at the walls, joints or ground myself, because a price given over the phone usually misses what's under the old mortar or pavers.
We get back to you within one business day to set a time, so you're not left wondering whether the form went anywhere.
The estimate comes with no obligation, so you can compare it, wait on your condo board or think it over before deciding anything.
These come up on Palm Beach jobs: permits, flood zones, condo approvals and the days the town lets work go ahead.
The Town of Palm Beach's Planning, Zoning and Building Department handles construction permits, and its permit form lists residential alteration, remodel and repair work. When your job needs one, we check with the department, pull the permit and set up the inspections. If all your improvements together reach $5,000 or more, the application also asks for the titleholder and mortgage lender.
A home in an AE or VE flood zone needs a separate floodplain development permit from the town on top of the regular one. That application needs an elevation certificate, or a survey showing elevations, for the first plan review, so find yours early or plan for a survey before we set dates. You can check your zone on the flood maps the town posts.
The town pauses construction from December 24 through January 1, and its 2026 list allows no construction on November 11 or 26 and only landscaping on November 25 and 27. Work hours also change between summer and winter. We build those days into the schedule, so you know up front when our masons won't be there.
Yes, the town requires a condo approval letter for all exterior work on any condo unit or building, so ask your association for it early. Board timing often sets the start date more than anything else, so I'd request the letter as soon as you've settled what work you want done.
